This may well be my new favourite book. Darby and Leo’s story had me completely hooked from the first page. I just adore these characters.
Sarah’s writing perfectly evokes that first love and endless summer in a way that makes you wish you were seventeen again and could run away to the Pacific Coast.
The switch between “now” and “then” is done so well and keeps you reading to find out what happens next. And things really hot up as the story progresses!
I especially love the friendships here – Darby and Dahlia have such a good bond and you wish you had a group of friends like Leo’s. Every character feels rounded out which gives real depth to the story and makes me excited to read their stories too.
Oh and I’ll never look at a Mustang in the same way again 🤭
